Unique learning environment

Bolinda Primary School is rather unique. Due to our geographical location, we are able to provide an alternative education choice to the wider community. Bolinda provides a secure learning environment and a rewarding curriculum that strives to meet the needs of individual students; each student has an individual learning plan tailored to their opportunities for improvement.There are three full time teachers with an overall ratio of 9 students per teacher. Parent Opinion Survey results indicate higher than average satisfaction and has for many years.

Pride, warmth, a sense of belonging

The rural outlook of the school engenders pride, warmth, a sense of belonging and a strong partnership between home and school. The school currently has students working in multi-age classes within flexible learning spaces. The school provides an educationally challenging learning and teaching program. It integrates the domains and dimensions of 'The Victorian Essential Learning Standards’ with a strong emphasis on Early Years Literacy, English, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education, Information and Communication Technology, Science, The Arts and Languages (French).

The school has close ties to two nearby small schools, Clarkefield & Darraweit Guim Primary Schools which form a cluster.The principals of these schools work closely together providing collegiate support, professional development and shared learning experiences. The schools share resources and meet regularly for cultural performances, sporting events and an annual picnic. On occasion, two other local small primary schools, Hesket and Newham join with our cluster for professional development opportunities.

The Grounds

The attractive grounds include playground equipment covered with a UV protective sail, a large grassed area, an all weather play area, gazebo barbecue area, hen house, vegetable garden, walking track, oval, basketball court, rubberised play surface and off-street parking.

The Rural Cluster

The school belongs to a cluster of rural school consisting of Bolinda, Clarkefield and Darraweit Guim Primary Schools. This provides staff and students with opportunities to broaden academic and social activities through cluster and professional development days where students and staff can work, socialise and learn together.
